When to open and close in New England
Opening — late April to early June
In Massachusetts we start opening pools once nights stay above freezing, usually late April. Booking before Memorial Day weekend is the difference between swimming in May and waiting two weeks in a queue.
Mid-season service — June to August
Weekly or bi-weekly cleaning and chemical balancing keeps the water clear through the hot months. We send photo updates after each visit.
Closing — mid September to late October
Close before the first hard frost. Water left in lines and equipment is the single most common cause of expensive spring repairs in New England.

Pool opening & closing questions
How much does a pool opening cost in Massachusetts?+
Our standard pool opening is a flat $75. If the water needs a green-to-clean recovery, extra chemicals or equipment repairs, we quote that separately after we see the pool — you approve before we do it.
How much does a pool closing cost?+
Closings are quoted after we know the pool size, equipment and cover type. Most residential in-ground closings land in a similar range to an opening, and we confirm the price in writing before the visit.
When should I open my pool in Massachusetts?+
Late April through early June. Opening earlier — once daytime temperatures hold in the 60s — actually saves money, because algae grows fast under a warm cover and a green pool costs more to recover.
When should I close my pool?+
Between mid September and late October, before the first hard freeze. Closing too early traps warm water under the cover and encourages algae; closing too late risks cracked lines and equipment.
Do you supply the chemicals?+
Yes. Startup and winterizing chemicals are billed at cost on top of the service, and we tell you the amount before we dose the pool.
My pool is already green — can you still open it?+
Yes. Green-to-clean recovery is routine for us. We open the pool, run a shock and filtration cycle, vacuum out the debris and rebalance until the water is swim-ready. See the before and after photos above.
Which towns do you cover?+
Brockton, Boston, Quincy, Randolph, Stoughton and the surrounding South Shore and Greater Boston towns.
